Although some growers have ceased growing cane because of low prices , most of the remainder have improved productivity and efficiency on their farms and / or developed other income streams 虽然有部分蔗农已经因为甘蔗价格过低而停止种植甘蔗，但大部分蔗农还是通过提高农场生产效率以及开拓其它收入流的方式继续进行甘蔗种植。

The merits are : ( i ) earlier grinding and earlier annual entry to the market of new sugar products ; ( ii ) prolonging the grinding period and enhancing the work productivity and the effective utilization of equipment ; ( iii ) solving the conflict of lacking grinding capability with traditional concentrated harvest of raw sugarcane ; ( iv ) lower the quantity and quality loss from freeze injury of raw cane ; and ( v ) proper income increase of sugarcane growers due to the increases of both sugarcane yield and price 采纳10月开榨配套技术可以使我国甘蔗糖厂提早10月开榨，使新糖提早上市抢市场，一定程度上克服我国糖厂榨季及产品相对集中的问题；延长榨季，提高设备利用率和劳动生产率，提高蔗糖业经济效益；可一定程度上解决原料蔗产量增长过快与糖厂压榨能力相对不足的矛盾；减轻可能的霜冻危害造成的原料蔗产量和质量损失。可以使蔗农通过单产提高和蔗价适度增加而提高收入。
