Therefore , behold , the days come , saith the lord , that this place shall no more be called tophet , nor the valley of the son of hinnom , but the valley of slaughter 6耶和华说，因此，日子将到，这地方不再称为陀斐特和欣嫩子谷，反倒称为杀戮谷。

And they have built the high places of tophet , which is in the valley of the son of hinnom , to burn their sons and their daughters in the fire ; which i commanded them not , neither came it into my heart 耶7 : 31他们在欣嫩子谷建筑陀斐特的邱坛、好在火中焚烧自己的儿女这并不是我所吩咐的、也不是我心所起的意。

For tophet is ordained of old ; yea , for the king it is prepared ; he hath made it deep and large : the pile thereof is fire and much wood ; the breath of the lord , like a stream of brimstone , doth kindle it 赛30 : 33原来陀斐特又深又宽、早已为王豫备好了其中堆的是火、与许多木柴耶和华的气如一股硫磺火、使他烬起来。

Therefore , behold , the days come , saith the lord , that it shall no more be called tophet , nor the valley of the son of hinnom , but the valley of slaughter : for they shall bury in tophet , till there be no place 耶7 : 32耶和华说、因此日子将到、这地方不再称为陀斐特和欣嫩子谷、反倒称为杀戮谷因为要在陀斐特葬埋尸首、甚至无处可葬。

And shalt say unto them , thus saith the lord of hosts ; even so will i break this people and this city , as one breaketh a potter ' s vessel , that cannot be made whole again : and they shall bury them in tophet , till there be no place to bury 耶19 : 11对他们说、万军之耶和华如此说、我要照样打碎这民、和这城、正如人打碎瑶匠的瓦器、以致不能再囫囵并且人要在陀斐特葬埋尸首、甚至无处可葬。

The isolation of his manner and colour lent him the appearance of a creature from tophet , who had strayed into the pellucid smokelessness of this region of yellow grain and pale soil , with which he had nothing in common , to amaze and to discompose its aborigines 他的神态和颜色与众不同，就仿佛是从托斐特里面出来的生灵，闯入了这个麦子金黄土地灰白和空气清朗的地方，他同这个地方毫无共同之处，使当地的乡民感到惊讶和惶恐。

And as no man knows the ubicity of his tumulus nor to what processes we shall thereby be ushered nor whether to tophet or to edenville in the like way is all hidden when we would backward see from what region of remoteness the whatness of our whoness hath fetched his whenceness 该墓之所在无人知晓91 ，吾曹将受何判决：赴陀斐特92抑或伊甸城93 ，亦全然不知。回顾后方，欲知吾曹存在之意义，起源于何等遥远地域，亦不可得矣。 ”
